Project Summary
Areas
Kitchen and hallway
Previous Finish
Hardwax oil
Colour
Natural pine, no stain
The condition
Badly worn boards with scratches and gouges
The hardwax oil finish had become heavily worn, with scratches and deeper furniture marks visible across busy areas. Full sanding was appropriate because the damage extended beyond a simple maintenance refresh.
Restoration process
How The Floor Was Restored
Assessment
Wear and furniture damage were checked before the treatment was chosen.
Full Sanding
The old finish and surface damage were reduced through progressive sanding.
Natural Preparation
The pine was refined without adding stain.
Finishing
The floor was sealed and protected with two coats of Bona Traffic HD Silk Matt.
The result
A straightforward natural-pine rejuvenation
The restoration removed the tired appearance and renewed protection while keeping the lighter natural pine colour. It provides a useful contrast with the stained pine project in High Heaton.
