The condition
Worn boards after a major renovation
The tenant had lived in the property for approximately 14 years, and the floor showed open gaps, marks and general wear after wider renovation work. The boards were still worth retaining, but minor repairs and proper preparation were needed first.
The approach
Repairing and stabilising before finishing
Local repairs were completed before sanding. Sawdust and resin were then used to fill suitable gaps, helping create a more settled surface while retaining the honest appearance of original floorboards.

Full Sanding
Worn material and marks were reduced through progressive sanding.
Gap Filling
Suitable open gaps were filled with a sawdust and resin mixture.
Sealing & Finishing
The floor was sealed and given two coats of Bona Traffic HD Silk Matt.
The result
Original timber ready for the next chapter
The restored boards now sit comfortably within the renovated bungalow. Their natural variation remains visible, but the surface is cleaner, more consistent and protected for everyday use.
